Outline Emotion series look back to myself.

In 2021, I started having dialogues with myself, to unravel the underlying reasons behind my various emotions, and to reflect on the transformation of self-awareness and values. It triggered me to use paint to realize the abstract inner experience and present it visually in the same abstract form. In the process of painting, following the answers obtained in the dialogues with myself, I let the paint and sight lead my hands back and forth on the canvas, deepening and confirming my ideas layer by layer.

The moment I realized that I had so many options, freely, that I didn’t have to be trapped into the little box I had set for myself, I painted this painting. And it was the beginning of all the following.

I tried to find back my original self, but the core didn’t just stay there. It could only be found by keeping digging into my heart, and during the digging, there would be uncomfortable moments.

As the conversation with myself deepened, I entered into a deeper level of myself. I imagined myself under the ocean. I could see different sources of light, little guide lights, and I could decide which direction I wanted to swim toward.
